DISSECTING A FANTASY SURREALISM LANDSCAPE OF THE HAPPY MAGIC WATERCUBE, BEIJING WATERCUBE WATERPARK

Describes both fundamental informations regarding the happy magic water cube and also analyzed the physical and nonphysical aspects of the place. From spatial study of existing wide angle photographs through color, lighting, movement of rides and attractions and its level of excitement, and thematic elements. It's also demonstrate the use of the rides and attractions names as indexical sign where one would read "tornado" and immediately associate the name with such tornado experience. The diagram on the left hand side is a cumulative of guest reviews that yielded a lot of insight experiential narrative to the place, one very personal and accurate.

This diagram aim to dissect a capriccio view of the happy magic water cube from a composition point of view. The ambitious is to find out how these fantasy surrealism elements when composed together yield a very special experience and atmosphere and what are these composition techniques have they used to create such feelings. It illustrates what are the successful composition techniques and what are not i.e. putting things close to each other and in a great quantity/repetition combined with floating effect create the strongest atmospheric experience of fantasy surrealism, and even the fact that the whole thing is wrapped in this bubble like facade which immediately put the audience into the underwater world which in itself impossible in reality.

The Alteration blue series set aims to alter the original capriccio image of the happy magic water cube in an attempt to desurrealize it to a banal space.The method use is to deal with materiality and meaning which in this case one element at a time is being altered into PVC blue color. Through this operation and sequence, at some points certain things when altered create stronger effect to the overall capriccio than the other, mostly thematic elements.
