UNIVERSAL STUDIOS, ORLANDO, FLORIDA

I am interested in exploring the threshold between each environment in the single space. How the environment changes/transition from one space to another completely different space in such a close distance. How/What does this make the visitor feel? Is this the attraction that the visitor want to feel when they come here? not just experiencing one atmosphere but the excitement of the constantly changing of atmosphere and space.

Does this relate to people/visitors? in some way yes. Apart from the physical aspect of making the atmosphere different such as the changes of light, materials, colour, sound, smell. Each atmosphere is different because of the psychological changes such as the amount of people and what they are doing. For example, "THE MUMMY" might have a lot of people crowding over but the building next to it might have a few people.

Therefore, I can break the case study analysis into two parts, the PHYSICAL and the PSYCHOLOGICAL (human, human gestures, sounds and noises made from them) transitions from one atmosphere to another.

FISHERMAN'S WHARF, MACAU 

 
   The fisherman's wharf in Macau is another example of a space which has different atmospheres in it. The visitor is transmitted into many different countries and historic ages in one single day.I think the key of the change in the atmosphere here is the issue of SCALE  TEXTURE and MATERIALS used to convey the transition between different architectural styles. I also think that the scale variation also have an impact on the people (the idea I said about jack and the bean stalk room in Dreamworld).

JOURNEY INTO THE CENTRE OF THE EARTH-TRANSITION FROM NOVEL AND JULES VERNE SKETCHES INTO A MOVIE OR A THEME PARK ATTRACTION

This case study is very interesting as how fantasy (a sketch or a novel) is turned into a man made reality. (similar to The times by William Hogarth). The idea is how the different stages are translated into a new space but still keeping the same atmospheric quality. This deals with all our senses such as touch, sound and vision especially in the movie and the theme park.
   What I am thinking is to pick one of sketches from the novel and analyse it and compare it with the scenes of the movie and theme park. The analysis will tell me how each transition differ, what is added and what is subtracted from the initial sketches and did that change the atmosphere and the space?


    I am currently looking into others novel based movies which could relate more on my capriccio analysis.
One idea that I have in mind is "THE STEPFORD WIVES" where the movie deals with people and the community. How a space changes people from being 'real' to 'fake' by the influence of other people.

    This is a unique club because they have 5 different spaces in to building. The space is distinguished from each other by the changes in sound and the kinds of people. Because each space will suit specific needs of the idea style and music of different kinds of people, they are automatically being categorized into groups. I can study the relationship between different sound and people here.
